Po boy burger at Urban bistro
Can a chicken burger be a burger? Its an old age question that has been asked from generation to generation and no one can answer correctly. When I saw this on the menu, I was not impressed. The name does not say much and to be honest, it was competing with a Wagu burger on the same menu. But then I thought at 52 AED, this is worth a try. When it came, at first site it was impressive. With sweet potatoe fries on the side, I liked that, I like that a lot. Then the taste test came. It was not bad, but its not something I will remember. However it did answer that original question. Can a chicken burger be a burger? No not it cant. Dont blame the chicken. Its not its fault. Its just the way it is.
The Classic Burger at The Meat co.
You know when you can't remember the last time you were ill, Or the last time you sneezed or the last time you did something really mundane. Well I cant remember this burger. I can't. I don't think I am at fault here. I went to a place that calls itself the meat company, so in theroy they should be knocking this out of the park. They did not. Presentation was good and the crispy onions were ok, I will give them that. However thats where it ended. Also at that price-point, you better make it worth my while. Such a shame.
Jones the grocer is now one of the best casual food venues around. It well known for its cakes, coffees and man other things. The menu reads like a baseball team of all stars. Could they do to the burger any real justice since there are better establishments out there that can do better. Lets start from the beginning. Burger came on a wooden block with the bun glistening in the light. The chips were in a separate bowl and medium cut. Perfectly salted. The tomato ketchup came in a separate dish which completed the picture. It was juicy, succulent and light. For 55 AED not bad at all. The only thing that let it down was that it had to end.
BUNLESS WAGYU SIGNATURE BURGER at West 14th, Palm, Dubai
I remember when I was a child and my mother used to dress me up in clothes I hated. I think the same has happened with this burger. It seems that the chef has gone to town on it and just wanted to put his own style regardless of what the burger wanted. So let me talk you through the spectacle, poached egg covered in bread crumbs, on blue cheese, prime beef, on 3 chunky chips, with a bbq dressing. However, I have to say the combination was quite spectacular. Seriously. I was amazed at the combination of flavours that just worked superbly together. I am still on the fence about whether a bunless burger is a burger, but the chef has certainly done his homework and produced a brilliant dish.
Kcal Burger, Healthy fast food
Healthy fast food? I had to eat it to believe it. A burger under 300 calories does not seem right. However, I think the Kcal gang have a theory, 'If you're going to be bad, then be good at it'. It was beast of a burger, using a whole wheat bun and under 6% fat, well, what can you say. The one thing that it was lacking was a tasty sauce. It needed it. It wanted it. I think that it would have pushed the calorie figures up, but it would have been worth it. Another thing it lacked was the order of side fries. Again that would have pushed it the C count too high. Would I order it again? Yes. Would I tell people about it? Yes. Nuff said.
The Obama Burger at Uncle Mike’s BBQ of Wanaka, Wanaka, New Zealand
Wanaka gave us the option of sinking our teeth into an ‘Obama Burger’… “What IS this burger you speak of?” I hear you ask. Well, unbeknown to me Obama is in fact from Hawaii. And so, bob’s your uncle, slap in a bit of pineapple and we’ve got a burger fit for a king ( or president )... Apparently. After cynically laughing at the name I sank my teeth into the president’s doughy meaty cheeks, and to my surprise… If it wasn’t one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. A bit of a turn up for the books that one. I can fully recommend* you get yerself a Medium Rare Barak Burger should you ever find yourself gracing the shores of Wanaka Lake. Your belly will thank you. * Since i originally wrote this we eargerly returned to Wanaka for more presidential meatiness only to find Uncle Mike's rent had been hiked up, and forced to close! Oh no! The Obama Burger passes now into the realm of Legend..... Is it myth ? Or is it meat ?

Fuel basic, Burger fuel, JBR, Dubai
BurgerFuel, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai
When you walk into burger fuel, its like walking into the mothership of burgers. Not only have they got the burger combinations spot on, but even the way you hold them, they way they are cut and the side sauces are just right. I am trying to think of negative, service, location, produce, but nothing. Absolutely nothing can be criticised here. Damn! keep it it fuelers!
